Catfood Desktate updates your desktop wallpaper with a map of the earth rotated so that it's always noon in the center of the screen. Desktate can also accurately plot day and night around the world - you can see sunrise and sunset and the changing seasons throughout the year.
Desktate includes three satellite images from the NASA Visible Earth project (two daytime and one nighttime) and allows you to select any image as the source.
You can control how frequently Desktate updates your desktop, or disable automatic updates entirely and just use Desktate to change your wallpaper manually.
Desktate automatically disables itself when a full screen application is running - this means that it won't take up any cycles when you're playing a game or delivering a presentation. It also automatically updates and resizes when you change screen resolution.
