Com-Guard acts as a virtual "Computer Safe" where your important files are kept. It is ideal for laptop and/or desktop use. Com-Guard enables you to selectively and securely safeguard your personal files and/or programs. It does this by detecting, protecting, recording, and notifying you of any attempts to open, read, copy, modify, or delete files you designate as private. Any number of files can be locked, encrypted, and/or made invisible to prying eyes. Com-Guard complements your current antivirus and firewall programs regardless of the source of the potential intrusion, whether through a network connection or initiated locally,
The authorized user configures security service options using a friendly GUI.. . When suspicious activities occur, anyone you designate can be immediately notified by way of a pager, telephone call and/or an e-mail alert, sent to one or more predefined e-mail addresses. The system can also covertly use video surveillance via a Webcam to record offending activities for later review and to attach to an email notification.
A protected event log transparently tracks keystrokes and records system activities and alarm conditions with time and date stamps. The authorized user can quickly review these daily logs with its highlighted alarms.
At the user's option, the system can be secured when unattended by a password-protected screensaver that hides data left on the screen from prying eyes. Any attempt to break the password security will trigger alarms and send notifications.
Violations can prompt a video clip to be taken of anyone at the computer. E-mail notifications can include the video for confirmation purposes.
