Most professional image editing software is designed to work with industry-standard ICC profiles. If you are a digital photographer and want your service provider to be able to get the best color from your images then it is vital to make sure you embed the appropriate profile in your images
All you need to do is to 'tell' the program where your (tiff and jpeg) images are, and where you want them copied to when the profile has been embeded. Depending on whether the program finds an RGB or a CMYK image it will embed the appropriate profile that you have selected. It's as simple as that!
