It opens up to 6 simultaneous news server connections, downloads all file types and supports downloading UUencode, Base64, and yEnc formats. TIFNY even handles large and cumbersome, multi-segment music and video files, automatically downloading, combining, and cataloging them for you.
TIFNY provides 4 different way to locate binary files from the Usenet newsgroups. Let TIFNY identify the pictures, music, and video files that interest you and download them without any manual intervention. Or scan the headers from your favorite newsgroups and see a summary of what's available. If you' re looking for songs by a particular artist, pictures of a specific actor, animal or flower and more you can search by keyword to find exactly what you're looking for. Or just pick and choose the files you want to download from individual newsgroups.
TIFNY learns from past usage, and utilizes that information to quickly and efficiently capture only what you want. You can filter out unwanted files by author, organization, newsgroup, file type, size or keyword. TIFNY will reject the files without wasting time downloading them. You can even filter files that contain a key word anywhere in the header. Annoying cross postings are rejected even before the message header occupies your bandwidth. And TIFNY remembers where it left off saving you time and bandwidth.
All downloaded files are added to an indexed database for on-line and off-line searching and browsing by file size, dimensions, newsgroup, author, subject, artist, and album. TIFNY has a built-in MP3 player that includes a jukebox, a built-in image viewer that lets you enjoy your images, and there's even a video player. TIFNY's thumbnailer makes it easy to browse your files by directory, newsgroup and file type. With TIFNY, you can sit back and watch the show, or listen to the music.
